Night Zookeeper is a Homeschool Game Changer!

Night Zookeeper is a game changer! Whether you are new to play based learning or already a game-schooling pro you have to give Night Zookeeper a try! The folks at Night Zookeeper really know how to reach kids! We have always valued reading and writing in this family! Night Zookeeper combines games, drawing, writing, reading, and videos to help kids learn. Their website is also super easy to use.

Children playing in the Night Zoo enjoy a beautifully designed world that they get to feel emersed in. There are options for parents to be able to make adjustments to better suit their learners, the price was right for us for all three of our kids AND the kids have a lot of choices they can make in the Night Zoo too. This program encourages critical thinking, creative thinking, motor skills, computer skills and it helps with all of the building blocks needed to develop confident and joyful readers and writers!

From the time our kids were little, we would drop everything if one of them brought us a book. We have always had books easily accessible to them, in intentional places for their little hands to grab and flip through. Stories have given us so many beautiful opportunities for some quality snuggles, a chance to build their vocabulary, and most importantly spark their imaginations. Reading with your child at any age, and teaching them to read are the most important things you can do. Night Zookeeper gets this! It truly is a homeschool game changer. Night Zookeeper changes the game by taking what could otherwise be stressful and frustrating – teaching and learning to read and write – and makes them fun. We love game-schooling and we love stories! So, Night Zookeeper just aligns perfectly with homeschool for our family.

Changing the Game for Writing

Night Zookeeper has been a homeschool gamechanger for writing for my oldest. This program has helped my 9 year old go from a kid who despised everything about writing, to a kid who has tapped into his own creativity and loves it! It used to be a struggle for him to be ok, with even just the act of writing letters and numbers. I was able to make a game out of it and he’s disliked handwriting less and less over time. However, when it came to worksheets, writing sentences, anything else that involved writing, he was not having it! Then like magic he began creating stories in Night Zookeeper and everything else suddenly became doable for him. He is even engaged in and enjoying a writers workshop through the curriculum we use for ELA.

Through creating creatures for the Night Zoo and writing stories about them he feels more connected to and excited about writing than he ever has before. He loves the satisfaction of doing well in the games, getting positive feedback from the Night Zookeeper tutors, and powering up his flashlight. Through playing learning games and writing reports about the characters you create, you charge up your flashlight. When you use your fully charged flashlight you reveal new areas of the night zoo, new creatures to create, new challenges, and new friends to help along the way! My oldest just loves the adventure he gets to be part of in the Night Zoo.

Changing the Game for Reading

Night Zookeeper has been a homeschool game changer for reading for our family too. My middle kiddo loves writing but struggled with reading for a while. Night Zookeeper skyrocketed his reading abilities in the most joyful way. He began to love reading, where before it was so stressful and frustrating for him. He loves Night Zookeeper and asks to play it on his own! We read together every day, and always have. Thanks to Night Zookeeper reading together has gone back to a beautiful snuggly experience instead of a big ball of stress for us both. We have always used game-schooling for teaching letter sounds and reading. We have used apps, board games, songs, and scavenger hunts, Night Zookeeper is a wonderful compliment to the way I love to teach and the way that the kids love to learn!

The Night Zookeeper Book Series

The Night Zookeeper book series is a super fun read aloud for me and my 7 year old! My middle kiddo loves, loves, loves, when he and I read these together. Luckily, I enjoy them too! We can’t get enough! I even reached out to the company and asked for more! Fingers crossed, that they get to work on writing the next book in the series! The books are captivating, creative, and suspenseful, but still appropriate for a younger reader. They have even inspired my kiddo to want to create his story about the Night Zoo outside of the game.

Parents have choices too!

Our kids are 9,7, and 5 and Night Zookeeper can be set for each of their age and ability levels. You can adjust the age and grade levels as your child progresses, at the pace that meets their needs. The parent has a login and each Zookeeper (child) has a separate login as well. This allows the parent to easily individualize the Night Zookeeper experience for each child. This feature has been essential for us. One of the most beautiful aspects of homeschooling is being able to meet each child where they are in each subject. Night Zookeeper gets this too! I can read their reports, monitor assignments, see the feedback they are getting from tutors and so much more. There are multiple parental controls you can choose to set or to not set. These personalization features give me piece of mind and ease of access, which to me, is essential. The entire program for kids and parents is user friendly and enjoyable to engage with. This parent will be choosing to use Night Zookeeper for years to come.
