Homeschool Geography Game – all ages FREE PRINTABLE

This Homeschool Geography Game will change the way your kids see the world. It’s simple, fun and low prep! Play it with your kids of all ages to help them continue to grow their awareness of the world. Take the pressure off of writing reports and doing big research projects, especially when they’re little! Try this fun game to help teach them how to learn, through asking questions and going on explorations of an area. You can incorporate books, videos, encyclopedias, different types of maps, the possibilities are endless!

Teaching our children how to learn is the most important thing we do as homeschool parents. Teach them how to go in search of information, how to follow their interests, and how to find the answers they want and need! This game can help you do that!

A Geography Game that gets my kids moving!

This game gets us up and moving which, at least for my kiddos, is super important in our school day! It gives us a way to break up the day, get moving and keep learning! I send all of my kids into another room, except for the spinner. They run out and when I call them to come back, then run back in. It’s simple but they love the freedom to move!

Here’s what we use to play this game:

  • Dry erase board to keep track of who is the spinner and who is the guesser
  • Free spinner app on my phone
  • A really big world map that we keep on the wall – we use this map

Why use play based learning?

Play based learning is fun and engaging. It will help to foster a love of learning in your child that they will carry with them their entire lives. It takes off the pressure and replaces it with enjoyment. Not all school can be fun and games, but a lot of it can be! Even on our toughest days I know we can play, read, and play some more to keep learning at the focus of our day. Check out this post for more on play based learning!
