Outside the Box Creation lights up my kiddos every time a new box arrives! Kids who love art, and even kids who don’t will enjoy Outside the Box Creation! At least that has been our experience. Most of my kids love to be artistic and feel so confident in their creative abilities! However, my oldest is not a fan of anything that is, “structured art,” for school. If he has do draw, paint or otherwise create with instruction he’s out! At least that’s how he used to be, before we tried Outside the Box Creation!
Most recently we used their Movement box. When I opened it, I really wasn’t sure. I thought it might be a bit beyond them. I have learned to trust this company and I know I can adjust the lesson if I need to. It turned out though, that I did not need to! All 3 of my kiddos loved it! As a homeschool mom I love that I can tailor it to their different levels, but I am also learning to not underestimate my kids. There’s room for each of them to explore the material in their own way.
They Love Art or They Don’t – So much freedom it doesn’t matter!
With the Movement box they learned so much about how artists give the visual representation of movement using light, texture, weight, and dimension. They each created a visual representation of their own understanding of how to do this through drawing. Each kiddo’s was very different. I loved this! They absorbed what was appropriate for their individual developmental stages and had fun along the way! My oldest who usually protests unless he can just scribble or make paint colors blend into something that resembles mud – dove right into this one! Honestly he has enjoyed every box we have had the pleasure of exploring through Outside the Box Creation. They loved the moveable figure and other art supplies that came with this lesson!
Art Taught Through Stories, Videos, and More!
Outside the Box Creation has it all! It has an easy guide that walks homeschool parents through the lessons, aids in teaching vocabulary words, and they use videos, and story books to accompany the lessons. This all makes it so fun and engaging! The stories are always cute and fun too! The lessons are broken up into different steps. This way you can do it in a way that works for you. We break the lessons up over a week or two. We take our time with it, enjoy it, and we supplement with Mati & Dada. The Movement box was on Degas. So, Mati & Dada’s video on Degas was a fun accompaniment!
I teach my kids that there’s no right or wrong with art. This gives them the freedom to learn at their own pace, absorb things on your time, and explore the material in their own way! Outside the Box Creation always gives you everything you need to do the lessons. Inside the box you’ll find all of the materials you need to set you up for a fun and exciting art exploration! They are always good quality too! Typically these materials are not ones that I would just have on hand. So, having them provided in the box is key to our success for sure!
It’s All Inside The Box!
Outside the Box Creation truly makes it easy! Everything you need is inside the box! There are opportunities for the entire family to learn as you explore the lessons and the contents of these amazing boxes! As an adult, I’m learning so much about artists and styles of art! I’m also learning that exploring art in this guided and creative way is so easy and fun, for me and the kids! More importantly, my kids are learning that there is no right or wrong in art, that their interpretation is exactly as it should be. They are learning that it’s more than ok to be creative, to be inspired, and to let the information that’s being presented be their muse. Outside the Box Creation makes teaching art easy and enjoyable.
